Part of the successful independent Ever So Sensible Group of pubs and restaurants, which runs sites throughout the East Midlands, the Duke William offers you a very relaxed stay. Whether you’re in the area for business, a short family break, romantic weekend or part of a celebration this is the ideal choice. Free WiFi is available throughout the building. All the rooms have either baths of showers, some have both including free standing baths for that more luxurious soak.

For families or close friends there are two interconnecting rooms allowing a party of up to 4 adults and two children share a space behind one front door. Apart from all the normal facilities we are also proud of offering probably the most comfortable beds in Lincoln.

Breakfast is a homely affair of quality local ingredients, cooked fresh to order. All of our food in our restaurant and pub is freshly prepared using only local suppliers. Food is served all day. We have a fantastic range of local cask conditioned ales, as well as British craft beer, a great selection of soft drinks and naturally a comprehensive wine list.

The building itself dates back to the 17th Century so the bar and a number of the rooms have real historic character. With an open fire during the colder months of the year, this is a building of real character and atmosphere.

The 17th century cottage is situated directly onto the Bailgate. It has a double and twin bedroom (can be converted to a double), with a sofa bed in the lounge and is available to rent as self catering for a minimum of three nights. You can of course join us in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner if you want, or we’ll even bring it round to your own backdoor with drinks and take the dirty dishes and glasses away after. The cottage has a small outside yard area to sit outside.
